You have a lot of control over the slicers appearance and other characteristics, so you can customize it to meet your needs. I'll show you how to change the appearance of a slicer in this movie. My sample file is the FormatSlicer Excel workbook, which you can find in the chapter three folder of the exercise files collection. Let's say that I want to filter this Pivot Table using a slicer. To do that, I click any cell in the Pivot Table, as I've already done, and then go the Analyze contextual tab, and click Insert Slicer. That allows me to select the field that I want to use as my filter. I'll click Month, and click OK.
Doing so displays a slicer, that contains all the values of Month. This will be fairly large, so I'm going to close the PivotTable Builder, and I'll drag the slicer over to the side. Needs to stay on the body of the Pivot Table. Practice while you learn with exercise files. Watch this course anytime, anywhere.
